Get 'er Done 2009!

It's time to Get 'er Done!

The Team - Dave Pellegrini

Dave Pellegrini, 61, Evergreen, CO

Dave began his climbing career only in 2002 just before joining the Colorado Mountain Club.  After his first fourteener, Mt. Wilson, he decided more mountaineering knowledge was in order.  Dave went on to complete the various mountaineering schools offered by the CMC and now helps teach and direct the High Altitude Mountaineer School (HAMS).

In 2003, Dave and his wife Susan began a quest to stand on the summit of each of the 50 U.S. state highpoints and to date Susan has 48 and Dave has 47 completed.  Mt. McKinley (Denali) remains one of the unclimbed after an unsuccessful bid in 2007 in which the team reached the high camp at 17,200 ft. after spending eleven days waiting for good weather up high at the Basin Camp at 14,200 ft.  In addition to the state highpoint list Dave is working on completing the 54 Colorado 14-er’s and the 64 Colorado County highpoints.  All three lists hopefully will be completed on one mountain in 2010 – Mt. Elbert.

Dave and Susan have climbed Pico de Orizaba in 2006 in Mexico in preparation for his first Denali attempt.  An attempt of Mt. Fairweather in Alaska never got off the ground in 2007 as bad weather prevented a glacier landing, but the time spent in Haines created some legendary eating and drinking stories.

Dave has lived at nearly 8,000 ft. in Evergreen, Colorado since 1996 with his wife of 36 years, Susan and Ozzy their standard mountain poodle and Milo their cat.
